  Windows Server 2008 uses SMB packet signing by default & NTLMv2 by default for CIFS authentication, however, some MFPs released before Windows Server 2008 do not support SMB packet signing or NTLMv2. These MFPs are therefore unable to scan to CIFS with the default Windows settings. Disabling the requirement for SMB packet signing and NTLMv2 should allow these MFPs to successfully scan to CIFS on Windows Server 2008.

  Windows Server 2008 uses NTLMv2 by default for CIFS authentication, however, some MFPs released before Windows Server 2008 do not support NTLMv2 and are therefore unable to scan to CIFS with the default Windows settings. Disabling the requirement for NTLMv2 should allow these MFPs to successfully scan to CIFS on Windows Server 2008.

• How do I reset the drum counter?

  After replacing the image drum (see Knowledgebase Article "How do I replace the image drum"), reset the drum counter to keep a correct count of the number of pages printed on the image drum.

• How do I install the print cartridge?

  General Information The print cartridge contains the dry ink as well as the xerographic drum and associated components that create the xerographic image on a sheet of paper. The print cartridge will eventually run out of ink through normal use. When the toner is low, printed images will be uneven or very light. Use the following guidelines when using or storing a print cartridge:

  When you have printed 200,000 pages on your B6100 the fuser unit should be replaced.

  If you have dirty print-outs then the image drum may have accumulated toner on it. Press the Select Function key, then the 10/Printer Cleaning One Touch key and the YES key. Your fax machine prints a cleaning page to clean the image drum. Repeat this procedure several times and then check again if you still have dirty print-outs. If this procedure does not solve the problem, your fax machine needs a new image drum unit. Contact your supplier to order one. If the faxes you receive are light or have vertical streaks in them and you are not out of toner, or if your fax machine displays a REPLACE DRUM CART. message, your fax machine needs a new image drum unit. The life of an image drum depends on a number of factors, including temperature and humidity, the type of paper you use, and the number of pages per job. Contact your supplier to order one.
